Why Are Physical Interactions Important?
Now that covid restrictions have eased, in-person events, such as seminars and workshops, are finally returning to full physical attendance. This signals the return of a long-suffering industry: MICE.
Why are physical interactions important?
One big thing that the pandemic took away from us was the ability to read social cues. Webinars and Zoom meetings are great countermeasures, but it’s impossible to tell how someone is implicitly reacting to you without seeing their body language.
Now, before you say “but body language isn’t 100% accurate anyway!” - yes, we know. That doesn’t mean that we’re unable to pick up on certain cues. For instance, if someone is brushing your points aside or not responding to what you have to say, 9 out of 10 times they’re not very keen on listening to you.
In-person meetings also allow businessmen to mingle with people after seminars in a setting that is socially acceptable for interaction. If you were to privately reach out to someone after a webinar, and that someone happens to be of the opposite gender, they might mistake your intentions completely.
If you’re looking to set up your own successful event, we have a large repertoire of clients with large-scale events that generated quite a lot of media buzz. Reach out to us at enquiries@dify.sg, and we’ll get back to you with a free consultation!
